Uno
Associate colors and numbers into this simple game of matching for students.
UNO™ is a card game that’s easy to pick up and impossible to put down! All it takes to win is a little coordination between colors (red, green, blue, and yellow) and numbers. Students will correlate colors and numbers as they try to be the first to get rid of their cards.
How to Play
Deal each player 10 cards and set the remaining cards aside as a draw pile. Flip over a single card to start the play pile. The youngest player goes first, playing a card of either the same color or number as the top card of the play pile. If a player cannot play either the same color or number, they’re forced to draw a card from the draw pile. When a player gets down to one card they yell “Uno” signaling that they’re in position to win. The first player to get rid of all of their cards is the winner.
In addition to cards labelled number 1-9, there are also a series of action cards to make the game more interesting. Skip cards jump the next player in line, forcing them to lose a turn. Reverse cards change the rotation of turns around the circle from clockwise to counterclockwise (or vice versa). Draw 2 cards force the next player to draw 2 cards before they start their turn. Wild cards can be played at any time and change the color of the play pile to whichever color the player specifies. Wild Draw 4 cards also change the color of the play pile, while forcing the next player to draw 4 cards before starting their turn.
Deck includes 4 suits of 25 cards each, plus the eight Wild cards, plus instructions and scoring rules. For ages 7 and up.
