Students won’t have to apologize for having fun!

Much like another fan favorite in Parcheesi, Sorry! is played with pawns and a deck of cards. As students work to move all of their pawns across the board, they’ll have to employ a range of critical thinking and cognitive skills. It’s a great game to teach students math skills, patience, and social skills within the classroom.

How to Play

The object of this game is to get all of your pawns around the board and back home. It's easier said than done, however, since other players are liable to bump and jump you all the way back to the beginning, where you'll have to try again.

To start, players select 4 pawns of the same color and place them on the board in the start area of the same color. Take out and shuffle cards, placing them face down in the middle of the board to form the draw pile. Player 1 draws a card to start. Only 1s and 2s permit a pawn to move from the start to the actual playing field—if you do not draw 1 of these cards, the next player has an opportunity to try. When a player does successfully leave the start area, they draw a card and move the appropriate number of spaces per the card. 4 and 10 cards move you backwards.

Pawns can jump over other pawns en-route to their final landing space as determined by the card. If the final landing area is occupied by a pawn—even your own—bump that pawn back to the start area and occupy the space. The person who gets all of their pawns around the board and back home is the winner!

Includes game board, 12 Sorry! Pawns, 44 cards, 2 power-up tokens, and instructions. For 2 to 4 players, ages 6 and up.
