Get four in a row before your opponent can do the same!

Students need to stay alert to opponents’ moves and their own opportunities as they drop checkers into a grid to get 4 in a row. Connect 4 moves can’t be memorized and each game is different, spurring critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills between players. It’s a simple game for any age that can be setup and played in minutes.

How to Play

Students take turns dropping red and yellow checkers into an 8x6 grid, with the object of the game being to get 4 in a row before your opponent. Students do rock, paper, scissors to see who goes first, and alternate their drops.

4 in a row can be achieved horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Students can work to build their own connect 4 opportunities, or focus on blocking their opponents with strategic drops. When someone reaches 4 in a row, they get a point and the game is reset. Matches are usually played for best out of 5 games. If no 4 in a row sequences can be made the game is reset, with the alternating person starting the new round.

Includes grid, 2 legs, slider bar, 21 red discs, 21 yellow discs, and instructions. For 2 players, ages 6 and up.
