Teach sequence and strategy with this complex card game.

Test your skills and strategy! Be the first to use all your cards by creating sequential stacks, and you totally ace the game! This classic card game provides an outstanding way to build math and social skills. There are several areas to keep track of, which makes it a great game for students aged 7 and up.

How to Play

Deal each player alt 30 cards (20 if there are more than 4 players)—this is the “stockpile.” Four 1’s are also dealt to the center of the table, representing the 4 “play piles.” The remaining cards are used as the “draw pile.”

Each player draws 5 cards at the beginning of their first turn (and back up to 5 on subsequent turns). The goal is to build each play pile up sequentially from 1 to 12 using the cards in your hand and the topmost card of your stockpile. If you use all of the cards in your hand, you draw 5 more and keep going. As you use the cards from your stockpile, continue to flip over the topmost card. The person who fully eliminates their stockpile first is the winner!

When a play pile reaches 12, it’s removed and reshuffled into the draw pile. You can also use a Skip-Bo (wild card) or a 1 to begin 1 of the 4 building piles in the center of the playing area. If you cannot play a card, you may discard one card in your hand in one of your four discard piles to end your turn. These do not have to played in sequential order.
